What is the Charter for Human Responsibilities ?
It is a global initative, engaged in translating the many ways in which we define responsibility into constructive actions. The Charter rallies participants in over 18 countries, on every continent.
The Charter doesn’t hold to a single or exclusive vision of responsibility; it recognizes the distinct historical, socio-political and economic contexts that mould the diverse world views on responsibility, in every sector of human activity.
The principles of the Charter are guidelines designed to stimulate reflection and action. The Charter is not a goal in and of its self! It’s all about creating a legitimate place in which to reconsider the role that responsibility presently occupies in our lives and how we see it evolving!
Rather than imposing solutions from ’above’, the Charter is like a rough draft awaiting our imput. It gives us a pretext for discussion on the role and the realities of responsible ideas and actions. The Charter of Human Responsabilities is what we make of it, where ever we are!
